Terms of Employment: Full time - 40 hours per week
Reports to: National Managing Director
Position Location: Southeast Asia - Remote

About the position
The goal of this position is to persuade major food corporations to fulfill their policies to phase out the use of animal products that originate from the worst forms of animal production systems, with a focus on intensive confinement practices. Our current ask in Asia is for companies to stop using or buying eggs from hens confined in cages. The successful candidate will be the main person responsible for contacting companies in the region that are already committed to going cage-free, starting conversations with them, and getting them to report on their progress. They will also lead campaign efforts to highlight companies that are making good progress and raise regional awareness about companies that are not progressing toward fulfilling their policies.
Responsibilities
-
Researching and building a database of food companies (and their key contacts) that have cage-free commitments in India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, and Thailand.
-
Establishing permanent contact with key corporate contacts via emails, phone calls, and in-person meetings, with the goal of persuading companies to report on their progress towards cage-free commitments.
-
Running LinkedIn ads to engage with companies.
-
Travelling regionally, as necessary, to meet contacts.
-
Representing Sinergia Animal and its campaigns at public events and within the NGO and animal protection communities at large.
-
Joining strategic calls with other NGOs to discuss this important issue on a global level.
-
Leading campaign efforts to raise public awareness about various companies’ progress (or lack thereof) toward fulfilling their animal welfare policies.
-
Working with the media to raise awareness about our campaigns.
-
Working with Sinergia Animal's international team in translating and developing campaigns and social media materials, writing and/or translating press releases and planning media strategies, acting as a media spokesperson for campaigns, and developing proactive relationships with our PR agency and with the media, as well as helping with any other communication materials when necessary.
-
Building alliances with other international and/or grassroots NGOs.
-
Carrying out other activities assigned by the supervisor, director, and/or president and following all procedures set by Sinergia Animal.
